Coggeshall Residents Against the Quarry

What do you think?

Blackwater Aggregates want to quarry 155ha of land between the River Blackwater and Cuthedge Lane.  It would take 20 years for them to extract 13,000,000 tonnes of aggregates  from an area  twice the size of Coggeshall. The Environment Agency  would then use the site of the quarry as extra flood storage .

If you have a few minutes we would really like to know what you think of their plans…

Do you live in Coggeshall, Kelvedon or Feering?

Do you live or run a business in an area that may be affected by flooding?

Do you use the Essex Way or any other footpaths that would be affected by the quarry?

Would your enjoyment of the countryside be affected by the  major changes that the quarry would make to the landscape?

The Environment Agency's scheme relies on extra floodplain being created from a 155ha quarry.  Are you in favour of this scheme?

Do you want the Environment Agency to  look again at environmentally friendly schemes?

Is there anything else you would like to say about the Environment Agency’s plan?
